Five suspects are in custody after Delhi police uncovered a sophisticated fraud operation targeting investors through WhatsApp groups and fake trading apps. The scheme allegedly siphoned ₹30 lakh ($36,000) from one victim alone, with funds routed through layered mule accounts.

Investigators identified four key operatives—Rajiv, Mohit, Rajbir Singh, and Monu Kumar—who managed bank accounts used to launder proceeds. The group lured victims with promises of high returns, directing them to download fraudulent applications mimicking legitimate crypto investment platforms.

Authorities executed raids at two operational sites, seizing evidence of cross-state coordination. The case highlights growing risks of social media-driven crypto scams in India’s rapidly digitizing financial landscape.
